And your nature is not to grow, to change in accordance with experiences? It is instead to stay stagnant? What does it matter if you would not be this reflection's Azem? Is not a point of aught we attempt to do to make a world in which Azem is not necessary?


[ abruptly, he feels very ridiculous. he had thought of this nebulous future as one where the duty and burden hydaelyn had left to aepymetes' shards would be lessened, after this great wrong was corrected. no convocation for either of them. emet-selch would have his duties in the aetherial sea when needed and viktor would visit when it suited him, with emet-selch joining intermittently when duty allowed. they would solve idle problems. viktor would take him to his favorite places, and emet-selch would gratefully endure being kissed at each one.

the last time he'd felt this off-kilter was - well. that's probably not a train of thought he wants to see continue to the station. ]


I cannot even begin to explain how little I wish to debate this. Talk to the shard, or do not. It is no matter to me.
